Introduction

During my internship, we adopted Google’s Material Design 3 system, which significantly influenced our design process. While working on various low- and high-fidelity sketches, I realized that transitioning from sketches to Material Design 3 could be more efficient. This project is the result of my experimentation to bridge that gap—streamlining the workflow and automating parts of the process.

Material Design 3 Integration

Leveraging Material Design 3 principles, this plugin simplifies the transition from rough sketches to polished UI components, making the design process faster and more consistent.

Meta: Designing in Figma for Figma

Building a Figma plugin to improve Figma workflows felt inherently meta—a tool designed by designers, for designers.

Prototyping & Iteration

The development began with early prototypes, which I demoed in the office. Based on the feedback I received, I refined the design and functionality for the companies needs.

Template-Driven Workflow

Starting with well-structured templates, the plugin ensures best practices are followed when creating wireframes.

One-Click MD3 Styling

With a single click, users can apply Material Design 3 styles to their wireframes, accelerating the design process and maintaining visual consistency.
